Your Role
We are looking for more employees for our service team for underwater sensor systems. The service team primarily works with sensor systems used aboard the Swedish Navy's corvettes.
As a service engineer, you will be part of our front-line support organization. The support organization works both with maintenance of sensor systems on-site at the customer and with maintenance performed in our own workshop in Linköping. You will also be an important part of our back-end support organization, which works with studies, investigations, and maintenance concept development.
We work with training activities aimed at ensuring personnel supply, both for Saab's own personnel and our customers' personnel. Competence maintenance is an important part of ensuring the operational sensor systems' availability, functionality, and performance over time.
Main Responsibilities Include:
- Troubleshooting systems/subsystems, both in operational and workshop environments
- Planning and performing preventive maintenance according to applicable maintenance concepts
- Performing corrective maintenance
- Writing service reports
- Evaluating fault reports to decide on immediate actions and contribute ideas for long-term actions
- Contributing valuable experiences from operational management and handling of underwater systems to support our development unit, both regarding modifications and new developments
Your Profile
You consider yourself a driven and motivated team player, ready to take on the challenges the team faces in a humble and committed way. You enjoy working on-site with customers as well as in our own facilities/workshops. You will be based in Linköping, but the job includes that most of your working time may be spent at various locations in Sweden, depending on where the Navy's ships are when work needs to be done. You value creating and maintaining good customer relationships based on mutual trust and business acumen. You are also driven by the opportunity to contribute to developing the team's collective ability as well as positively contributing to each colleague's personal development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of work experience in the development or maintenance of complex technical systems
- Good ability to read and interpret technical information
- Several years of workshop experience regarding both electronics and mechanics
- Several years of experience in handling software updates of systems
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and PDM systems
- Good knowledge of English, both written and verbal
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with the Swedish Armed Forces, especially related to operations in a maritime environment
- Experience with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV)
- Experience in the development or maintenance of underwater systems
- Experience with underwater sensors
- Experience in systematic troubleshooting
- Experience in handling LINUX-based applications
- Experience in training others in handling technical systems
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has security clearance requirements, this may entail citizenship requirements.
